I grew up with this book and just recently re-acquired it! It has the best illustrations (on the inside), and lots of odd (sometimes disturbing), obscure nursery rhymes as well as classics. :)
It was published by Whitman in 1953.

love the cat and the fiddle on the cover. why does mother goose always wear that creepy hat though? i found it disturbing when i was little. like she could do creepy, magical things to you. and then write a rhyme about it ;)
