stitched mess

stitched mess
I'm a little embarrassed to admit, I keep a bag full of embroidery floss scraps that are too short to stitch anything with. they always look so pretty in a messy pile when my project is done! they're kind of a random work of abstract art by themselves. I didn't know what I was going to do with them until I saw this little experiment on flickr. some of my scraps may have a higher purpose after all. ;)

stitched mess
This is a smallish work at 4 inches across, I basically just arranged a wad of threads into a circle and stitched them down. I like the idea of trash becoming treasure, lemons into lemonade, recycling leftovers, an organized mess as art.

  8. I keep all my scraps too. even my wool ends when darning in. I was glad I did. I took a heap of the wool ends to playgroup the other day. The kids glued them down on card & had pictures that looked like this too! They loved it!
