floss palette

Do you get overwhelmed in the floss aisle? There are soooo many colors to choose from! (personally I love that) but it can be a bit daunting to decide what colors to pick. My personal color palettes are often admired (thank you! :) SO, I've put together a selection of my favorite floss colors I use most. I hope it helps you out if you're having color decision problems!

I use DMC floss pretty much exclusively (it's easy to find everywhere, and comes in about a million colors, as before mentioned. ;) You can see there is a number on each color label so you can find the same color again if you need it. You'd be surprised how similar some of the colors are, but just enough different to be a problem if they don't match.
Besides the colors here, I use a wide variety of browns, greys, black, white and ecru.

Want to see something else really pretty?

floss color chart

DMC sent me this when I plugged them in my first book! It's a floss color chart book with real floss samples and it's awesome, I love it. These are hard to come by in real life, but you can see a digital version right here. (click on colors.) :)

  1. I got one of those DMC floss sample charts at AC Moore a couple years ago (though I don't think they carry them anymore). With a 40% off coupon I believe it was around $10 and worth every penny! It is essential for matching felt and floss colors without having to bring lots of little felt scraps to the store and set up camp in the floss aisle! If you can't find one in stores, you can order it on the DMC website for $25. They also have a printed version for less but I don't think it compares to having the actual floss there!

  6. I had to delete my comment because I said that I have a DMC thread chart that I got from Hobby Lobby but I forgot to say that it doesn't have actual thread....that would be awesome though. ^_^

  8. I love floss so much. But apparently I am really drawn to the same colors over and over because I'll see a color and go "Ooh, I like this!" and for some reason don't remember that I already have it. Then I get home and I already have two skeins of it in my floss box. Whoops!
