little una

little una

Here is Little Una! She is a one of a kind art doll with jointed arms and legs, hand sculpted from paperclay and painted with watercolors. She is available in my shop today: www.littledear.etsy.com

I've got a couple more little jointed dolls in the works, they are so much fun to make! Each will be one of a kind, my favorite way to make things. :)

  2. Una is wonderful!

I've just started working with paperclay (inspired by your lovely Noms)and am finding it much more difficult than other clays (polymer and from the ground type clays).

Have you got any tips on the smooth handlng of paperclay and getting it to do what you want it to?

  3. Thanks so much guys! ^_^

Dani, Paperclay can be tricky, it dries quickly and is brittle if the pieces are too small/thin. I try to keep my shapes compact without a lot of small parts. It works best straight out of the package, if you don't use it all at once, be sure to keep the rest wrapped up air tight. If it does start to dry out while you're using it, you can use a bit of water to smooth it out or work it in. The main reason I love it is because I can paint it with watercolors since it is a paper texture! good luck!
