I've been making these little nature mandalas while sitting outside with my 2 year old son.
When I'm finished, he enjoys dismantling them piece by piece. :)
It's quite contemplative to create these, and freeing to make something artistic that will exist only for a few moments.
Have you made nature art or mandalas before?

We love making nature mandalas! My older kids have been making them with me for a couple of years now. So much fun, and quiet beautiful work! Here are some of ours:

Those are beautiful Rachel! I hope to make some with flowers once spring is in full swing. :)
DeleteThese are lovely! While completely different, I do love making cairns. One of my favorite memories is coming across one on a beach in Washington state. Not a soul around, but there was a little pile of rocks waiting to be admired.
ReplyDeleteI love how these are all different, and I can see why your son would love them too! I have to ask, did you use acorns? They seem so huge to me, but I don't see a lot of oak trees where I live!
Thank you! Cairns would be fun to make as well, I wish I could spend more time at the beach. Yes, we have a huge oak tree with lots of acorns!
DeleteI love nature art! I often do it at the beach in the summer, near the current water line from the tide. Then I wait to take pictures when there are water bubbles in the picture from the retreating tide.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds wonderful! I'd love to live somewhere where I could visit the beach more often.
