framing embroideries

Hey there! I've been a bit quiet lately so I thought I'd show you what I've been working on. I'm framing a bunch of embroideries in hoops for an upcoming craft show!
(Check out my ribbon box, I used to keep a hamster in there (long ago). ;D it's just the right size.)

Don't they look pretty? The frames are just wooden embroidery hoops, wrapped in ribbon. There are complete instructions on how to do this in my new book, Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection! ALL of the patterns you see here are also in the book, so don't miss it! It will be out in October. :)
This will be my first ever craft show, so I kind of just winging it as far as what and how much to bring. I'll have lots of original embroideries like these, some prints and mini paintings and copies of my first book too. If you happen to be in NW Arkansas on August 28th, I would LOVE it if you came by to see me! I'll have a table at Unique Boutique, at the Springdale Holiday Inn Convention center. More later!

  5. I absolutely love these!!! I have been looking for a unique way to frame some paper crafts I have been working on and I never thought to use an embroidery hoop! What a great idea. I can not wait to see the new book. I made a pair of sneakers for my niece based on a project in your first book and she absolutely LOVES them!!

  10. I love to frame embroideries in hoops but have never wrapped the hoop in ribbon like that - I love the pop of color it adds to the projects!

  11. Hi Aimee, I got your book about half a year ago and it's wonderful! It opened my eyes about stitching! Nothing to do with boring cross stitch my mother wanted from me :) I can't wait for your new book! I love your illustrations! Making such a good mood! Thanks!
