I've got something really cool for one of you today, a free copy of Craft Hope! This book is awesome, it's all about making things to donate to charities. It contains projects from dozens of different crafters, each matched up with a charity to donate to. This is an amazing project and I am thrilled to have been involved in it. I designed the tree and bird embroidery patterns for these mittens.
If you'd like to win this copy, just leave a comment and tell me what your favorite thing about Autumn is! A random number will be drawn next Wednesday, September 15 and the winner will be announced here.
Meanwhile, check out Craft Hope website, they organize lots of craft/charity projects that you can be involved in!
Good Luck!!
:) aimee

ReplyDeleteWe don't have a real autumn here in Israel, but I have to say that my favorite things about the season are the leaves changing colors and the light smell of rain on the breeze.
ReplyDeleteI love Autumn, my favorite thing...that's such a tough choice! I'd have to say it's a cool, brisk breeze rustling through tree leaves. :) Second choice would be college football season. :D
ReplyDeleteautumn is definately the best time of year, for all sorts of reasons, but my favourite thing has to be blackberry-picking while we're out walking the dogs - it takes me right back to being a little girl again...then home again to make jam and hot fruit crubmle...
ReplyDeleteShuffling through crunchy leaves and getting to wear leg warmers and tights again. :3

ReplyDeleteIn southern California, Fall is the closest thing we have to a real "season." The temps are cooler and the leaves fall in our yards. It's a really pretty time of the year.
ReplyDeleteHi Aimee, what a great idea! I would like to take part of it if you don't mind :)
ReplyDeleteI really love Autumn, it's my favourite season, I like the colors, the weather, the light that Sun has those months, I like Halloween... I love that season!

Thank you for sharing! My favorite things about autumn : mitts and wool sweaters are back. Here in Quebec, trees are full or colours, and we go picking apples with the kids. The light is smoother than in summer, and nature still pretty.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about Autumn is the smells! Soup cooking and cinnamon things baking, cool crisp air mixed with fallen leaves. Especially here in Ohio, these smells make the season so cozy and fresh!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to choose just 1. As of right now though, my favorite thing would be the weather!!! A break from 100 degree heat, but not cold enough that it's uncomfortable to be outside. I have a 17 month old son so this will be his first Halloween that he can participate in, so I CANT WAIT to show him all the pumpkins, costumes and decor!
ReplyDeleteI suppose this doesn't have to be strictly an autumn thing, but for me, it means one thing -- APPLE CRISP! Yum.
ReplyDeleteEverything!! I love autumn, and it doesn't last very long here. I love the weather, our county fair, and I always look forward to a wonderful caramel apple!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about Autumn! Living in Phoenix, it is the season when the heat finally subsides and you can open up the house, letting the breezes come in. I love making apple crisp and drinking apple cider. I love crafting and getting ready for all of my Christmas projects. Halloween and the pumpkin patch. I am so excited about Autumn – it just never lasts long enough!
ReplyDeleteEvery year I make some craft project to give away on charity. Hoping that the next will be from that book! :-))
ReplyDeleteI like roasted chestnuts;)

ReplyDeleteI love everything about autumn. I love that I get to start wearing my favorite sweaters and scarves, I love the crunchy leaves on the ground and the bright, amazing spice colors of the leaves on the trees.
ReplyDeleteI do kinda miss the longer days, but that is a small price for the rest of the beauty of fall.

The best thing about autumn was the memory of our childhood farm which was covered in oak trees. We used to make bike paths in the leaves and little houses. It was fun playing in the oak leaves!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about autumn is the cooler weather :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I can pick just one! I love the crispness in the air, the crunchy leaves underfoot, sipping hot cider and finally being able to bake again!
ReplyDeletefootball is my favorite thing about fall!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a chance to win a great book.
ReplyDeleteSo many things, hard to pick one. The smell is the first thing that came to mind, so I'll say that.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely checking into this book. What a great idea!
My favorite thing about autumn? I think it's the contrast between running around in the woods by rain, getting wet to your undies and even freezing a bit, and then afterwards coming home, throwing off all your wet clothes, wrapping up in a nice cozy blanket, lighting a candle, drinking a hot cacao and looking through the windows at the nasty world outside.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say the smell:)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of autumn are those sunny days when all the colors in nature seem to flame up and make it warm - even when the wind is in your face!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is a wonderful time of year - with the comfortable weather, beautiful colours of the changing leaves and bountiful harvest. But my favourite thing about Autumn is it is the time of year that we welcomed our daughter Bridget into the world - looking forward to celebrating her 2nd birthday next month.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is my favorite season - also my birthday is in Oct! Not too hot, not too cold - perfect for hiking and viewing wonderful colors and going to the cider mills.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!

Thanks so much for the chance to win this great book. My favorite thing about fall is leaf raking days. Our whole family gets a rake. We work together all day to get our yard looking clean again. We have to bag the leaves here so we all have fun sitting on the bags to squish the leaves down so we can fit more in the bags. My husband always lights a fire in the chimenea so we can burn whatever sticks we find. I usually have a pot of chili going on the stove all day and when we are done with all the leaves we go inside take nice warm showers, get in our comfey clothes, and have a nice hot bowl of chili. The best part is when you look out the window the next morning and the yard is filled with leaves again : )
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about autumn is evening bonfires with my family making smores. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe crisp air ~ warm but cool at the same time, that dusty smell of fallen leaves and the way they crunch under your feet as you walk.
ReplyDeleteJust found your adorable website from Craft Hope ConKerr Flikr page (btw - love your pillowcase!) and I've bookmarked it. Silly girls, fall is for knitting... that's why it's the best time of the year.
ReplyDeleteIn autumn there are those days where the wind has that certain bluster and feel before it rains. You can go out and feel the wind and smell the air and know it will rain, even if the sky is still mostly clear. Those days remind me of the happiest time of my life, walking through fields and trees holding hands with a friend, and waiting for the rain to come.
ReplyDeleteThat's an easy one, the changing color of the leaves, and the frost in the morning!
ReplyDeletesoup!
ReplyDeleteI do love Fall, I think maybe it was originally b/c my birthday falls within this season but now that I'm older that part I would like to forget:) My favorite part is the fall colors all around me, especially the fabulous colors that the leaves change in to!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win this great book!
I live on a street called Autumn Lane. Seriously! We are surrounded by apple trees and the smell of the apples is now my favorite thing.
ReplyDeleteThere are too many favourite things about autumn! I love the weather here in Canada, it's absolutely perfect. Sunny and beautiful outside, not too hot but not so cold that you need a coat. Also, there's lots of rain. I love the rain. Not to mention how gorgeous everything looks in the fall when all the colours start changing.
ReplyDeleteMallowcreme pumpkins :) I don't like eating them, but they are too cute. The weather improves vastly (I live in Louisiana, so any day that's not sticky and blisteringly hot is a good one!), fall festivals, Halloween, the smell of bonfires burning, acorns, pumpkins, sweaters...so many little things that make fall a great thing!
