ReplyDeleteKss!!
Hi!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've ever embroidered was a little owl on the corner of my pillowcase and a little squirrel on the corner of my fiance's. Those are our signature animals!
I love your designs, and I've always wanted to try them!!
My favorite thing I have embroidered was tea towels I made with my twin daughters a couple of years ago; they were about 7 years old at the time!
ReplyDeleteWould love to win this book so we could do some more fun things together.
Oh, how wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI have not embroidered in awhile, but would love to start up again and learn more.
When I was in high school many years ago, it was all the rage to embroider rainbows and clouds on our army-like backpacks. Okay... yes, these were the hippy years of the early seventies! Very groovy!
My fav was the Thinking pattern of yours, which I made for my niece. I did a few changes on the things in the hair to personalize it for her.
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie embroiderer, working on my first design -- a sampler, and I'm loving it so far. However, I did do an embroidery project in a High School home ec class . . . a pillowcase that I still have (some 20 years later!) . . . so maybe that would be my favorite project so far!
ReplyDeleteI love to embroider, I think my fave is probably an apron that I made. I have a bunch of vintage transfers and especially love the fruits/veggies and kitchenware with personalities. For the apron I used a quirky little teacup with a face :)
ReplyDeleteI am a newbie :) I love embroidered pillow cases and aprons :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great idea! :) I haven't embroidered anything yet, at the moment I'm overtime crocheting to have enough stock for a craft fair stand I'm doing with my mom and grandma, but I've already decided my first project going to be a fat kitty. They're too cute! <3
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing would probably be the pillowcases I did for a friend. The colors were very muted against the color of the pillowcase, giving a lot of subtle texture to the design.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've stitched was an illustration from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas for a Phat Quarter swap. It was a ton of fun to do. I have your first book and would love to win the new one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for having such a wonderful giveaway! My favorite thing I've embroidered is an Edward Gorey cat.
ReplyDeleteWow! I heart it! I wonder it!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to choose: I love all my embrodery like sons... but perhaps I love the most my own design, for exemple the duck my husband presume I am, look at this:
http://ilblogdipepe.blogspot.com/2010/07/lho-finito.html
i haven't done much embroidering. but i'd love to try doing some of these sweet little hoops. maybe with owls!
ReplyDeleteAwesome prize! My favourite embroidery was a tea towel I gave to a friend for her birthday with a cupcake embroidered on it :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! My favorite thing I've done is the aprons that I embroidered for my sister-in-law and grandmother-in-law at our first Christmas together. They fit their personalities so well and they really love them and actually use them!
ReplyDeletecongrats on your gorgeous new book!! i'd LOVE to win this prize, it is just fabulous!
ReplyDelete& my fave embroidery project has to be my sewing machine cover. i did a little laundry line & appliqued little clothes. my favorite part is the little patches & pockets & flowers i embroidered on the clothes. the embroidered touches really made it special.
I am working on an embroidery project to give my sister for her wedding next year. I'm still in the planning stages but I'm pretty excited about it. Otherwise the little owls I made for my son are my favorite so far.
ReplyDeleteI love the embroidery since childhood, my mother taught me then a few embroidery stitches and spent my evenings this summer. What a beautiful time! I love to win a copy of your beautiful book, but if luck was not with me, I'll come running to buy the mine. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing ever are the hankies I stitched for the hubby with one of you little Doodle cats on the corner...kinda fits as we have a kitty named Doodle, which the hubby is crazy about. She is pictured in my profile! Doodle stitching has fired my love for embroidery! Congrats on the release of the new book.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite stitching that I've done is my tiny Toshiro Mifune embroidery. So small I put him on a button!
ReplyDeleteHooray! I've been looking forward to your new book!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've ever embroidered is what I call my Thrift Find/Mushroom Girl. She was one side of a two-panel kit I found in a thrift store a few years ago. The other side was a boy with a mushroom, but he had already been partially stitched with yarn. I cut him off after trying to pick up where the previous crafter had left off (didn't like the yarn used) and decided to just stitch the girl.
It was one of my first "big" projects, and I love how she turned out. I've since used her on my business cards and am even considering turning her in to a tattoo ... we'll see! :)

I did a tiny rabbit jumping over a cherry blossom that I hand drew on some recycled linen. Then, I stitched it into a checkbook cover with patchwork of Japanese fabric with rabbits on it. Very zakka.
ReplyDeleteI have never really embroidered anything in my adult life but would love to embellish a skirt/dress for my little girl :)
ReplyDeletem favorite thing was a onsesie for my little guy, it was a doggie, that i later coloured in with crayons. he just looks so cute in it, and it was fun!

Hi there! Way back in the day, when I was still in 4-H, I made a sampler about the Bremen musicians. It was a big project, and I remember feeling really accomplished when I finished it because it took me the entire summer. Also, it was project that got me hooked on all things cross-stitch and embroidery related. Because of those reasons, it's probably my favorite bit of embroidery.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Average Jane Crafter, your mushroom project is so cute!
My 8 year old daughter got your first book and a fully stocked "tool kit" from Santa last Christmas. This summer she made the baby and Mamma bear set for her Aunt who suffered, and survived, and Aortic Aneurysm while giving birth to her son. My nephew was born with a heart shaped birthmark on his foot and my daughter added that detail as well as her Aunt's surgery scar to the dolls. You can see them here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/36775835@N00/sets/72157625141419738/
ReplyDeleteYour book gave her the knowledge and skills!
I have your earlier book and I love it! I love the idea of a book full of motifs, especially the CD. My favorite thing that I ever embroidered was the picture on the front of a knitting needle case that I made for my friend from felted sweaters. It was felt applique, embellished with embroidery, and it turned out awesome.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing isn't done yet! It's this http://www.flickr.com/photos/thejoysofjess/4781101160/ that I'm working on for my mom
ReplyDeleteI'm finishing up a princess and the pea embroidery for my daughter's room. I'm thinking of framing it. I can't wait to see your new book.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite stitched piece is a needleroll that I did a few years ago. I also have a Buddha pillow that I love. Your book looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite stitched piece is a Lizzy*Kate Summer Sampler. I still need to take it to be framed! It's been finished for over two years. I should probably get on that framing thing so I can start enjoying the piece again :)
ReplyDeleteI also have a few things I would like to embroidery this fall and winter as gifts for friends. I love the idea of small hoop-framed embroideries :) (And I hope my friends like them, too!)
My favorite thing ever are the hankies I stitched for the hubby with one of you little Doodle cats on the corner...kinda fits as we have a kitty named Doodle, which the hubby is crazy about. She is pictured in my profile! Doodle stitching has fired my love for embroidery! Congrats on the release of the new book.
ReplyDeleteyour book looks so cool, i have never embroidered before, but am sort of beginning to. Something i have always wanted to do is to have hand embroidered (by me) christmas napkins i think it would be so festive
ReplyDeleteCongrats with the new book!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried this kind of embroidering and did only cross-stitching. My favorite one was with cats on the roof looking at the night sky.
I have to say that my favorite stitched piece was a bib I made for a childhood friend. It was less than perfect but she and her husband were happy with it so that made my day. Thanks for the generous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, my Murder Presents kitty embroidery. I think I smiled the whole time I was stitching it.
ReplyDeleteI love vintage dresses, anything feminine and retro. My favorite was when I enlarged one of the model's heads from a McCall's pattern to embroider, and I gave her a 3D flower in her hair and a wisp of netting across her face like a bird cage veil. Lovely effect.
ReplyDeleteA LITTLE famous!! I want to hang this in our newly painted living room!! My most favorite thing that I've embroidered is a vintage pillowcase set. I gave them away as a gift but I'm going to knit a set for myself. soon
ReplyDeleteMy mom loves flowers and gardening, so I made a tiny garden as a mother's day gift - flowers that last forever!
ReplyDeleteFavourite thing I've ever embroidered, eek that's hard! I have to admit though I have a soft spot for some of the things I embroidered when I was first learning and that includes the flower shop skirt from your first book, I still wear it today!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing I've ever embroidered is a picture of my all time favourite childrens book- The Tiger who came to tea.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this fabulous book! I've never embroidered before but I would love to try my hand at some new stitches, and maybe embroider a house with a picket fence...
ReplyDeleteFavorite thing would have to be a little dinosaur I did for my son's room--it came out sooo cute:)
ReplyDeleteOOHH would love to have your book:P
My favorite embroidery project ever is currently in progress- an embroidered Wonder Woman shirt. It is awesome.
ReplyDeletecorvus.melloriATgmailDOTcom
The favorite thing I've embroidered are some pillows I did for a cousin for Christmas. I used anatomy patterns of a heart and a brain since she is a nurse! They turned out great!
ReplyDeleteI love your first book and would love to have this second one. If I had spare cash, I would have already bought it, but it works out since maybe now I can get one signed! Squee!
My favorite embroidered art is the very first one I did, of a little farm girl and boy from Aunt Martha's. It was a table runner and it sat on my dresser. I used to sit by my grandma and she would teach me how to embroider it. Now that she has passed away, I continue to pass on her tradition of embroidery to the students that i teach.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've ever embroidered is a banner for my shop. It's very "me" and also it makes me feel official somehow, as if I have a shop sign.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a giveaway to bring out the comment fairies!
my favorite thing I've ever embroidered is this cover for my 1940s stitch book: http://www.flickr.com/photos/craftybean/4819985473/ <3
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing I have embroidered so far is the Nightingale Lap Quilt that I made for my sister-in-law's first baby.
ReplyDeletewhat a great give away! thank you for the opportunity to win one with some of your fab embroidery work!

I love your first book and I can't wait to see what all is in the new one. This has been on my Amazon wish list since I found out you had a new book coming out!
ReplyDeleteYay! I've been waiting for this book to come out!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've embroidered is a bag I made for myself - I did a chemistry motif, cuz I'm dorky like that.
My most favorite project was a set of napkins I hand embroidered strawberries in the corners. It was my first attempt that was fit to give as a gift! Luv your hoop framed set!
ReplyDeleteI recently embroidered a peacock with sequins on a tote bag for a friend's birthday. It came out so good that I really wanted to keep it for myself:-)
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased your other book Doodle stitching which I love but have yet to find the time to stitch anything from it as yet. My favourite thing I embroidered was a cross stitched piece of my son in shades of grey and white on black. Took a long time to finish but it looks fantastic framed, people think it's a painting rather than stitching lol. I would love to embroider some peacock feathers as I have a love for them and their vibrancy!
ReplyDeleteI love embroidery, but I the only embroidery work I've ever done was on a handmade purse for my best friend's girlfriend as a birthday gift! I'd love to learn more about embroidery! =D
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful book! I've hardly embroidered anything, but of what I've done, I like a little embroidered bird ornament I made for my mom.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! It looks wonderful! I bought the little gnome pattern from your Etsy store awhile back and still haven't tried it, lol, but will remedy that this holiday =)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've ever embroidered would probably be The Dude bowling with his special lady friend, Maude. If you don't know The Big Lebowski, then my description sounds just plain silly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win, your stuff is beyond adorable :)
My favourite and first embroidery project was a small table runner. It had beautiful edging and the loveliest flower in one corner all blanket stitch that I'd made in fifth grade. I gave it to my mother as a gift but I'll always remember it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway. I love to embroider on anything, it makes things so personal.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, and generous giveaway! Gosh, it's hard to say what my favorite emberoidery is. Usually, I'm in love with whatever I'm currently working on... so I've narrowed it to three, in no particular order.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/lisasteatime/4562517192/in/set-72157623465091831/
Please throw my name in the hat!

Lisa
Hmm...by favorite thing probably has to be a set of mermaid tea towels I made for my best friend. Or the tattoo tea towels I made for my dad.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your book, Aimee!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite stitchy project is still very much a work in progress.. a portrait of both my grandmothers. Hopefully, I'll finish it next year! :-)
I love to embroider anything, too, but my favorite is probably this little portrait of my kitty cat that I keep on my bulletin board on my desk:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/adaiha/355202584/
Lesson learned, though, because it is such a weird shape that almost four years later, I have yet to find a suitable frame for it. Now I plan the size of embroidery after thinking about how I'm going to frame it. Super excited about your new book!
My favorite embroidery is probably this dragon that I made for my son's fall jacket, documented in this blog entry. http://www.kaskiles.com/2010/09/sewing-for-kids.html
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the new book. It looks wonderful.
by the way, I went and checked out everyone's links. I saw some really sweet pieces.

Ooh, Ive never tried embroidery before, but this looks like a lovely way to start! x
ReplyDeleteThank you for this chance to win! I am on a waiting list at my library for your book. I would love to win one instead.
ReplyDeleteI am new to embroidery so I do not have a favorite finished project. I am waiting to borrow your book from the library for inspiration for my first project - two fleece capes for my daughter's twin dolls. I already have the fleece and the thread -- I just need some ideas.
I would love love love to embroider a plain white pillow case for my little girl. I had one when I was a kid and it always made me happy when it was on my pillow. She doesn't sleep w a pillow yet, she's 2 and just got her crib turned into a day bed. But one day I'll get her her own little pillow and how special would it be to embroider a little bird and he name on her own tiny case?
ReplyDeletedang, I wish I was a crafty mum. These are adorable <3
My favorite thing I've embroidered is this cute snail that I did on a onesie for my nephew.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/mabith/5008703206/
I've done more difficult things but the snail is my own design and that's always more fun. It's even because of my nephew that I really got into embroidery. I just loved making him unique onesies.
My favorite thing to embroider are patches- they're small, but fun and gratifying! I'm hoping to make some new moth ones when I find some time. I'm currently obsessed with mandalas and scribbles though.
ReplyDeleteso far I searched the internet for hours and I am really amazed how many people are into embroidery! there are wonderful pieces. so I found a hoop and decided to embroider a self drawn motif of a girl playing hop scoch on my daughters pouch.

ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing that I've ever embroidered is a set of baby animals all done in red and made into a very cute baby quilt.
Hi Aimee! I'm so excited you're doing this! I LOVE all your artwork. I've pretty much just been lurking around your blog for the past month, but this gives me a good chance to finally post a comment! =)
ReplyDeleteI'm very new to embroidery, but I've cross stitched for a long time. I decided to start embroidery because I feel like it's just a much better creative outlet than cross stitch...though I believe xs has its merits too, especially the really detailed ones. I'm really starting to rack up on patterns and ideas but I think the top pattern that I would absolutely love to stitch would actually be your Thinking pattern. I'm obsessed with this pattern! It's so gorgeous! I would actually love to get it as a tattoo! =D
Thanks for inspiring me so much!
-Kamisha
I just embroidered a drawing that a 4 year old did of a fairy - looks adorable and is my fav thing so far.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteI'm new to embroidery. The only needle work I've done is cross-stiching. I love your books! I have them both and am dabbling with embroidery know.
*Thanks for sharing your work!
~amy
I don't have any pictures of it, or if I do, I have no idea where they would be but my favorite thing that I have embroidered would be a counted cross stitch that my roommate and I worked on together for a friend that had a baby. We worked on it foreeeeever and were glad when we finally finished it :)
ReplyDeleteI think it is time for me to pick up my needles and hoop again and work on some projects. I'm thinking those 3T shirts I just got out for my son could use some 'prettying up'! ;)
Love your work! I received your last book for xmas a while back! My favorite thing I've embroidered was a little patchwork pillow for my mom for mothers day and a felt kitty that was embroidery for my sister! I embroider for my business everyday but its so fun when I get to make something special for friends and family!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is a poem my mom wrote that I stitched for her, my sister, and my daughter. Haven't made one for myself yet!
ReplyDeletesdsunshine@sio.midco.net
I did for a while embroidery in cross stitch, but would love to do this type of embroidery and fairy dolls.
ReplyDeleteIf the book is beautiful I'd love to come to me!
thanks!
Nani

ReplyDeletehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/amaralmenezes/4437652867/
Lately I embroidery with different stitch and not only cross stitch and I love it.
I love the picture of your book, maybe I'll be the lucky one;)
Sofia
Sorry my English, I'm Portuguese!!!!
My favorite thing is a small quilted wall hanging that hangs on the door of my daughters room. It took me 2 years and a very difficult, miracle round of IVF to finally get pregnant, and finally being able to make things for her and her room was such a wonderfully joyous time. You can see it here....
ReplyDeletehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/emmylizzy/3426497593/in/set-72157621051627448/
Congratulations! What a fantastic giveaway; thank you. My favorite embroidery piece is the puppy dog (from a Martha's design) that I embroidered for my son's quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt's still a WIP, but for two years now, I've been embroidering a girl sitting on a stack of books reading. It's going to be an 8x10 embroidered illustration if I ever finish.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, not sure the favorite thing I've stitched. I guess it was a baby quilt done in redwork. I started it when my daughter was a little girl, put it aside, and finished it for her daughter. How's that for procrastination?
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely pieces and i would really enjoy both the book and having those gorgeous famous stitcherys!
Our Mama is obsessed with embroidery now and loves your site! This would really encourage her to sit still longer and therefore we could share her lap with her project!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Murphy and The Duke of Whirl
Oooh!!! I'm so excited for your new book! I have the first one!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've ever embroidered is a tea towel I made for a good friend of mine who, like me, is a huge fan of horror movies. One of the first movies we ever watched together was The Evil Dead, so I adapted the design of the movie poster to a black-white-and-gray design to put a little ookiness onto a tea towel!
Pictures here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43086118@N05/5073006491/in/set-72157623867146357/

ReplyDeletemy dancing veggie tea towel :) i hope to one day embroider some more decorative items, or something on a large canvas. a needle and floss were always easier for me to use than paint and brush ;)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've stitched is a bag designed after one from my favorite web-comic Questionable Content. It's a simple kitty face on a pink tote but I love it!
ReplyDeletecongratulations on your book hitting the shelves. i'm sure it's going to be a big success. my favorite thing to embroider? hmmmm, i guess i would have to say the calaveras i did on a pair of comfy and wholly levi's.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing I've stitched up in a tie between a Charley Harper inspired cardinal on a gray bag I made for a Craftster swap and the lap quilt from "Doodle Stitching" in shades of green with brown and yellow birds for my son.

ReplyDeleteIn high school I had a shirt and pair of shorts that I embroidered all over with all kinds of little motifs - and friends' and family members' signatures too. Still have the shorts...

I enjoy stitching vintage transfer motifs - the designs are so much fun! Congratulations on your book Aimee!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried embroidery since I was a little kid (I have no idea what I embroidered) but I would love to try it again now and I think it would be fun to do some leafy trees.
ReplyDeleteI learned to embroidery as a young girl from my grandmother. We would embroidery flour sack dish towels, to start and then moved on to hankies, and sachets. I finally took on the job of a small square tablecloth in cross stitch. I have been eying some needle work on felted knitting and wondering whether I should pick up the needle and hoop again. Congratulations on your published book. I saw it in Beverly's on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations with your book, it looks very nice.I do mostly cross-stitching sometimes with special stitches. And just finished a stitchery with a bath-angel. That is al the embroidery I did so far.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was little, my Grandmother taught me to embroider and I learned to embroider flowers and my initials.
ReplyDeleteWhat Fun! I took four pages from a coloring book and traced big bird, cookie monster, elmo, and the grouch and stitched them up using 4-6 strands. The Grouch came out awesome! He is my total favorite ! I was going to make it into a baby quilt - Now I am thinking a grouch pillow Just for me! Love the eyebrows on this guy!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to all !!!
@ vanessa- i wish you'd post a link, that sounds like a great project!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a very long time since I've embroidered anything. Therefore, I have no favorite thing to embroider, but I have a project I'm getting ready to start soon - a crazy quilt which will have lots of hand embroidery adorning it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite embroidery was a bear with a baloon, in cross stitch, the first one I ever did.
ReplyDeleteThe back of it is so ugly and clumsy, so far away from what it's suppose to look like that someone else could hate it.
But me? I love it and have it since 1993. :)
Thanks for the oppportunitty.
During sophomore year of college, I bought a embroidery kit of two rabbit sweethearts, with the phrase "You're nobunny til somebunny loves you". I can't believe it's now 30 years old! Still hangs in my home.

I think the first time i've ever embroidered was in school, when i was 12... I think it's an amazing work, and i would love to explore it again.

Thank you :)
Hi!

Thanks so much for the chance at winning!
I appreciatie it :)

I'm a newbie, so I have only a few works, made for friends and family. My favorite so far is the most recent (I guess I like it best because I felt more confident while stitching it): a framed embroidery I did for my newborn nephew, using your Ghost Birds pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteI have recently started to embroider, because I had found some beautiful pieces that were created by my great great grandmother. Mostly old handkerchiefs and pillowcases, but it was so delicately put together. I would love to create lasting memories for my kids, grandchildren, and even great grand children, that they can enjoy as adults. Who knows, maybe we'll have a lineage of amazing embroiderers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity :)

My most favorite thing that I ever embroidered was a drawing of a girl that my husband drew a while back. I stitched it on a tote bag and use it everyday! I have a photo on my blog if you want to check it out. http://nosninslifeinstitches.blogspot.com/2010/03/hand-embroidered-bag.html
ReplyDeleteKeep up the beautiful stitches!

Do you remember/know the old Popeye character "Eugene the Jeep" - when we moved to Germany my daughter - then 9 claimed there were no Jeeps in Germany (as in the vehicle) so as she has 2 teenaged brothers & her parents are smart aleks - every time we see a Jeep we point it out to her - then showed her a pic of Eugene & said Jeep - so I embroidered a pic of Eugene on the leg of her school pants.
ReplyDeleteI usually sew instead of embroider but I'm proudest of the embellishments on these tiny foods i made for a craftster swap:

Learning more embroidery is on my to-do list, can't decide if sashiko will come first but the allure of your cute patterns is so strong....!!!
Thanks for the chance! My great-grandmother did a lot of crewel work, so the favorite thing I ever made is a Jacobean tree of life motif wall hanging crewel piece. I thought of her the entire time I worked on it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to embroider is a coelacanth. I first embroidered one on a dish towel for my fisheries biologist brother.
ReplyDeleteMy little sister loves perfume so I made a little white cotton bird and embroidered the side with bird of paradise feathers in purples, reds and oranges, and stuffed the whole thing with potpourri so that she can keep it by her bed and keep her room smelling lovely...
ReplyDeleteI just learned to embroider last year, and it is my favorite art hobby.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite piece so far? hmmm. I think it may be my Dolly Dimples Diva - a vintage circus sideshow fat lady. I am also partial to my portrait of Albert Einstein with the fuzzy texture hair and mustache. He was one of my first pieces.
I would LOVE to work with the designs in your book and learn new techniques.

I love to embroider and have made lots of pieces I love. I did a Day of the Dead themed framed piece I adored. It went to a new loving home. I also did a naughty Kama Sutra embroidery that made me laugh.

ReplyDeleteOMG!!! I've been counting down for months waiting for your new book to come out!! I hope I win it but if I don't I'm buying it on Monday! My favorite thing that I have embroidered is a half apron for my baking queen sister. It was almost too cute to give away!
ReplyDeleteI still love my very first stitchery, it was a handwritten tag {and my first backstitching ever}.
ReplyDeleteOH WOW! This book looks like so much fun, the photos are amazing. --- The favorite thing I ever stitched -- is usually whatever I've just finished. So this week, it's this pillow I made for my niece.

My grandmother did a lot of embroidery and I learned a bit from her, but I am still a "newbie" by all standards. Like my grandmother, I would like to embellish some pillowcases and make a baby quilt. I am pulled between something cute and girly (for me) and trains (for my son). I bet there will be loads of good ideas in this book!
ReplyDeleteI love what you do and I love your blog. Thank you for this great giveaway. If I win, I will use your book with honor.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 16 or 18, I made a stole and I embroidery with big big flowers.

I haven't embroidered much yet. But I guess the pictures i did for my first quilt (still working on it) will always be some of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Germany,

My favourite embroidery project so far has been a fabric pendant with a tiny peach tree embroidered on it.
ReplyDeleteI recently stitched a forest on my daughters messenger bag. She loved it. Thanks for the giveaway!

Wow, I embroider quite a bit, so it's hard to pick a favorite. Maybe the redwork quilt top I'm working on for my granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteLove your stuff!
My favorite embroidering so far has been to repair/disguise holes/stains on clothes for my 3-year-old, giving them new life! I would also really like to try a small wall-hanging sometime. Love your first book and look forward to seeing the new one.
ReplyDeleteOh, wonderful! I'm so excited it's officially available now!
ReplyDeleteGosh...I've embroidered enough to have forgotten a lot of what I've done. I really enjoyed a little soft-toy that I embroidered. A little girl that became a little doll. It was easier to stitch on woven fabric than the usual onsies and t-shirts I stitch for gifts.
Hello Aimee,
ReplyDeleteI loved your last book and have not bought your latest yet... I would love to win one signed by you. My favorite thing that I have embroidered was pillowcases for my children and their spouses for Christmas. It was so fun to personalize each one for them. Thanks so much for the chance to win. cdub246

I loved the first book, just have to say! I don't really have a favorite thing that I've ever stitched yet, as I'm just learning! But I hope to embroider some Christmas stockings this year!
ReplyDeleteI am looking for new ways to freshen up hand-me-downs (4 girls ages 2,4,6,and8!) and I think they would love some of these designs on their shirts or jeans. So cute! wmartinec@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteMy fav thing I've ever embrodiered has to be the first thing, I ever did.. It was a cute star, heart, rainbow pattern. It was pretty decent, and did look like a first time stitch piece butI was 7 and my gramma was my teacher. it was the best!

What I've been working on is just basic stitches. I bought your first book, which inspired me to start anew with hand embroidery after a 40+ year hiatus. I love the colorful and funky projects you offer and would dearly love to own your newest book. Connie from coastal Carolina

My favourite is a little dress I've made all by myself for my 2 yo girl. I finished it with a little hand embroidered flower.
ReplyDeletewhat a cool giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I have ever embroided was a pixie for my grandma inlaw, we give her a new pixie every year for christmas. I would love to become a master embroder or just good, so I would dare to embrode for my little Klara. (I need help to get started)
Have a good weekend.
I am currently stitching self portraits of my three children to hang in vintage frames I've upcycled ;)
ReplyDeleteI am still in time! I'm lucky enough to have a mom who embroiders a lot and she's very talented. She adapted the "sweet dreams baby pillow" pattern to fit a child bed sheet for my daughter. I love that pattern and I hope I would embroider it as well as my mum did.. but maybe the deer pattern on the cover of "Doodle - stitching", I'm still unsure..
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing that I've embroidered is my current suite of little owl stuffies - Hoot, Screech and Hoobie! Would love to win these prizes!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

ReplyDeleteHello talented, inspiring person. Very excited to read of your new book, and would love to have a copy. My favourite thing ever embroidered has to be -- oo, so hard to choose... toss-up between the Chinese lanterns and the ever-so-sweet, magical tree face. Both in your previous book. Chinese lanterns went onto a pillowcase, for my daughter, and the tree onto a pretty cloth that I framed as a gift for a dear friend. Love = work made visible. Thanks for helping me do this in a pleasurable, delightful way.
