owl

I've been experimenting with making some new plush designs, and I made this one of a kind owl. My technique is basically to make it up as I go along. :) I have a hard time using patterns, so this is always most fun for me. I just grab pieces of felt (often from my ever growing scrap pile), cut out shapes and stitch them together. Then decorate with embroidery of course. :)
This guy measures about 8x8 inches and is 'tattooed' with hand embroidery. His wings are somewhat posable, he is in a flying position and I think he would look great hung from the ceiling! I'm kind of attached to him, but he's in my shop if you'd like to give him a new home! ;)

  10. He is so cute! And I too am loving the blog design. I usually view it in a reader, so I don't get to see all of the loveliness, but I clicked over to comment. Love the autumn vibe!

  11. That owl is amazing! So beautiful and detailed! I love your 'technique' and this is perfect reminder to me that 'making it up as you go along' is often far more interesting than having things all planned before hand. A great way to get over that demon procrastination!
