I got a new box of crayons today! It's been a loooong time since I had one of these. aren't they pretty?! They're mostly for color tinting my embroidery.
Of course the first thing I had to do was organize them by color and try them all out. Some of them have crazy names now, like Macaroni and Cheese, Purple Mountain Majesty, and Mauvelous.
which is your favorite?
Crayons are super awesome! I recently played a quiz with a friend where we had to try and name all the Crayola crayon colours - there are some pretty cool ones in there! Timberwolf is my favourite colour name but my favourite colour is Mountain Meadow - it's a pretty luscious greeny blue. What's your favourite?
ReplyDeleteFantastic names! They do just what they say on the tin don't they! I think I like granny smith best.
ReplyDeleteI love putting things into colour order like you have. I recently bought 50 reels of coloured sewing thread and took great delight organising them into colour order!!
Simple things...

I love new boxes of crayons! My faves were always melon and perriwinkle
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the fact that you organized the colors. I used to do the same thing with a new box when I was little. Oh my gosh, it's been YEARS since I had my Very Own Box of Crayolas to play with. I should seriously pick up a box sometime soon... Teal has always been my favorite. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've been obsessed with color since my first box of crayons!! I had to organize these right away. I do that with everything.
ReplyDeleteI have a paper from 3rd grade that asked my favorite color, I wrote Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. I don't think much has changed. ;)
I keep a box too. I have them to help me identify colors. The names really help.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite crayola has always been "GreenBlue" - different from Blue Green. I'm curious if it's still there or if it has a new name...
ReplyDeleteI remember when Crayola had a naming contest for the crayons! Macaroni and Cheese is from that! My favorite has always been Cerulean, but now I think I'm more of a spring-green or robins egg blue type of lady.
ReplyDeleteI really want to try color tinting some embroidery. Maybe very soon I'll get to the free patterns you posted a while back. Sure hope so!
ReplyDeleteA new box of crayon is like a dream come true. I love pacifico blue.
