our lady

our lady

I finished a new embroidery pattern! I love how she turned out. I hope you do too.

I used a lot of different stitches here, if you look closely, you'll see I mostly use Split and Back stitches for line work, Satin stitches and French Knots for spots and some Lazy Daisies and Bullion Knots for flowers. (Look here for a complete tutorial on how I create stitched flowers!)

I also used a Long and Short fill stitch to do the heart and flame. (Find my tutorial for that stitch right here!)

I really enjoyed working on this one, although I'm not Catholic, she is meaningful to me.
You can pick up the pattern at my shop: www.littledear.etsy.com
and stitch her up yourself. As always, I love seeing your variations on colors and stitches!
If you want to use my colors, I've just updated my Floss color palette post with some new colors (blues and yellows) I've been using.
